Proven Track Record: 50+ years collective experience, hundreds of success stories!

To whom can you turn when you or a family member struggles with emotions, learning, relationships, and/or life in general?  You have found two professional counselors/educators who have been called by God to minister to hurting children, teenagers, individuals, and families who have social, emotional, relational, academic, and/or spiritual struggles.

The BTG staff has a proven track record to overcome the issues that have a negative impact on learning, families, and lives. Pamela Poteat, the biblical counselor with training in education, adoption, and fostering, has been serving clients in the greater Nashville area for the last 23 years. Terry Carter, with 37+ years in education and ministry, has brought her expertise in learning (with a background in counseling and fostering) to join forces with her sister to form a unique partnership.
With the knowledge and wisdom from their Lord and Savior, the BTG Team has developed a process that takes hurting, struggling clients to stabilization and then to healing. We not only work with surviving in a busy, stressful world but, also, thriving as children of the King of Kings. There are parallel services in biblical counseling and educational therapy that work on the deep issues that affect the mind, body, and soul.

Each Client requires his/her own personal pathway to healing…

After gathering data (via assessments and the Personal Data Inventory), the BTG staff develops either an Individual Counseling Plan (ICP) or and Individual Learning Plan (ILP) for each client. In the biblical counseling process, each person has a unique pathway to stabilization and then healing. When learning is emphasized, each person develops an awareness of how s/he learns and how to effectively involve the body and emotions in the learning process. No matter the type of issue, God has given wisdom via His Word to heal the heart and rewire the brain. Each client receives a personal toolbox of strategies that s/he will learn to apply in times of struggles or crises. God has made no two brains alike so each client needs his/her personal tools that work for his/her particular situation and personality.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.
— 1 Corinthians 2:9
Trust in the Lord with all your hear and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.
